1. Determine the WAY you will HOMESCHOOL IN FLORIDA
- Home education Register as a homeschooler by submitting your letter of intent through your local county school district.
- Personalized Education Program (PEP). The new Florida school choice voucher program taking effect July 1, 2023. This option will be similar to home education but will have a few fundamental differences, such as end of year testing. You will need to register through Step-up For Students

2. Submit letter of intent to withdraw your student through your local county school district
PALM BEACH COUNTY
Submit a Notice of Intent for Palm Beach County School District to establish a home education program.
MARTIN COUNTY
Submit a Notice of Intent for Martin County School District to establish a home education program.
3. Contact a Florida State homeschool evaluator
Florida homeschool evaluators and tutors are listed by County. We recommend that you speak to several prospective evaluators before selecting one. Ask about their evaluation style so you can be sure it will be a good fit for your family.

The most common learning preference lists contain the VAK types.Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic. More recent science has expanded this list of three to seven and here’s a helpful infographic summarizing each of the Seven Learning Preferences.

Discovering your teaching style means far more than just knowing how you convey knowledge or skill to your child! It involves things like . . . what kind of scheduling works best for you? Do you prefer everything planned out or do you enjoy winging it—sometimes or most of the time? And what's your personality like?

Homeschooling can be so much easier and so much more fun when we’re able to choose the right curriculum for our students! Years ago there wasn’t much available to homeschoolers as far as curriculum. We had to do the best we could with what was available. Now the opposite is true! There’s so much available that it can be hard to narrow down our options and figure out what curriculum to choose for a particular student.
